We regret to inform you that our father, the founder and CEO of the Gallus Group, Istv\u00e1n Szab\u00f3, passed away on 20 December 2019, at the age of 72, after a short, severe illness. His passing leaves a huge gap in our lives.<\/h1>\n

He managed Gallus Kft. since 1991, which he developed over the past nearly 30 years into a fully integrated group of companies employing more than 1,100 people and one of the largest employers in the region.<\/p>\n

He was delighted to be able to pass on his knowledge and work gradually and steadily to the next generations, starting his career in a similarly supportive environment. He was proud of the excellent professionals who made the continuous development of his group possible, of the results they had achieved together and of the successful Hungarian family business he had envisioned. He knew that it was very difficult to build such an excellent team in Hungary today, but he also considered himself lucky to be able to help such a young and extraordinary company, as he put it, “as a manager with some extra experience”.<\/p>\n

His charming personality, his empathy, his love of his profession and his preparedness will always be missed. His extensive lifetime of work, his humility and his unshakeable belief in the value of honest work stand as an example to us all.<\/p>\n
